The high capital cost of specialized aircraft, extensive pilot training requirements, and established government relationships create a robust barrier for new entrants, ensuring the moat's persistence for at least 10-20 years. Expanding fleet and continued contract wins reinforce this position.
Moat Erosion Risks
- •Development of entirely new, lower-cost wildfire suppression technologies (e.g., advanced drone swarms, ground-based systems)
- •Significant cuts to government budgets for wildfire management
- •Increased competition from larger, diversified aerospace or defense contractors entering the niche with substantial capital.
